Q: Are there direct flights to Antigua and what is the average flying time?
A: Yes there are direct flights from the US and from the UK. The flight time from New York is about 4.30 hrs. From London it’s about 8 hrs to Antigua and 7 hrs on the way back.
Q: What’s the transfer time to Harbour Hill from the airport?
A: About 20 minutes.
Q: When is the best time to visit the island?
A: Antigua is warm the whole year round. The high season is between December and May. That’s when all the restaurants and bars are open, all the big boats are there and English Harbour is at its busiest. If you want to be at the centre of a lot of activities, that’s the time to go. After May the island is a lot quieter. However more and more restaurants are now staying open till later in the summer as visitors discover the pleasures of Antigua during the summer. If you want to have the beach to yourself, that’s the time to go! There are also events happening during the summer like the Carnival in early August. Like Florida and the rest of the Caribbean, late summer and early autumn can bring a higher risk of hurricanes although Antigua hasn’t had one for a number of years.
Q: Do we need to rent a car?
A: No. At Harbour Hill it’s not essential as the beach, restaurants and shops are all within walking distance. However you probably will get much more out of your vacation if you rent a car as there is a lot to explore and see around the island. There are of course also buses and taxis.
Q: Do we need to bring towels or linen?
A: No you’ll find everything at Harbour Hill.
